Marzamemi
is a seascape village surrounded by the sea in Siracusa district.
This small village is located on a promontory where you can find
many moors for nautical pleasure craft. At the end of the 1800s
a port of call has been built in this area, close to the old tuna
food-processing building and to the mansion-house belonging to
the Villadorata aristocratic family.
The whole area is interesting not only bacause of its charming
landscapes and unpolluted nature, but also because of its ancient
history. This old fishermen village is located 5 kilometres from
the Vendicari reserve and the well known Cala Mosche beach and
6 kilometres from Portopalo di Capo Passero, which represents
the farthest stip of the South Eastern Sicily. From Marzamemi
you can also easily reach the “Isola delle Correnti”
or Flow Island, so called because this beach represents the place
where the Mediterranean Sea and the Ionio Sea merge one into each
other. The Isola delle Correnti is located about 8 kilometres
away from the village and it represents one of the tourist’s
preferred destinations. As it has been anticipated, tourists can
not leave this place without discovering its history. Located
at 20 kilometres away from Marzamemi, you can sightsee the baroque
city of Noto and the so called “stone garden”. No
more than 50-60 kilometres away, you can also admire Siracusa,
Palazzolo Acreide, Necropoli di Pantalica, Scicli, Ragusa Ibla
and Modica, which are location patronised by UNESCO.
The hotel is located in the historic centre of Marzamemi seafaring
village, a strategic location which allows you to easily reach
the main beaches and all the primary services (bar, food store,
ATM, 24 hours tourist medical service, pubs and nightlife entertainments).
La Conchiglietta is a pretty hotel family managed in front of
the Ionio Sea, ideal for the tourist who is looking for a relaxing
holiday and a picturesque seafaring landscape. The 12 rooms available
are provided with private bathroom, conditioning air, TV. Some
of the rooms have also a private balcony with a beautiful view
on the sea, others overlook the main street of the village. 50
metres away from this main building, you can find the “depandance”,
a second building where 8 more rooms with the same services are
available. The hotel is located 100 metres away from the “Spinazza”
beach, set between the eastern cliff and the delightful headland
called “Bove Marino”, on the western side. The restaurant
is located on the ground floor of the hotel. Here you can enjoy
your lunch or dinner on a romantic terrace in front of the sea,
while eating typical dishes of the local marinara tradition.
